At least three women, one of them a 23-year-old French citizen, were killed after being seriously injured in an explosive device attack at a shopping mall in northern Bogota, Colombian capital sources said Monday. .
The Country Clinic said in a statement that Ana María Gutiérrez, 27, and Lady Paola Jaimes, 31, “died as a result of injuries sustained.” Previously the mayor of Bogota, Enrique Peñalosa, had reported that a foreigner also died as a result of the attack, whose authorship has not yet been determined.

The attack took place at 5:00 pm local time (22:00 GMT) in the bathrooms of the second floor of the Andino Shopping Center, in the north of Bogota.

After the explosion, the authorities ordered the evacuation of the shopping center and were closed several streets nearby.
Technicians in explosives came to inspect the place to determine what type of cargo was used in the attack.
The death of the Frenchwoman comes two days before Santos travel to Portugal and France from 20 to 23 this month with an agenda of diplomatic, economic and cultural.
