Episode 22 Preview
The name of Boku no Hero Academia Season 2 Episode 22 is something like “The rise of Yaoyorozu”. From this first line can be foreseen the course that will follow this chapter. It follows the action of the end of last week but it injects a tremendous rhythm and leaves all the space of action for the secondary ones.
They are, in fact, the absolute protagonists of this episode. These minutes play at various levels of secondary and gives them relative importance to their performance in the series so far and its potential. The first to jump on stage are Tsuyu and Tokoyami, who are perhaps the most important of the second line (after Uraraka, Bakugo, Todoroki and Iida). Both are strong, calm, mature and know how to make the most of their uniqueness. It is no surprise that they have passed the practical exam. And also have remembered that both are characters that, to put it badly and soon, molan. Especially Tokoyami, that I have an important fetish with him.
And, speaking of fetishes, after that fight it was the turn to Todoroki and Yaoyorozu. After, of course, Iida. Which, incidentally, shows that the delegate of the class has returned to be what it was. The Yaoyorozu couple and the heterochromatic one is interesting because it is of high contrasts. Although both are the most capable of the class and have excellent singularities, Todoroki trusts too much of himself and is not able to hear, in the first instance, the thoughts of Yaoyorozu. And the latter has not risen again after the beating Tokoyami gave at the Festival.
Maturity of Yaoyorozu
Thus, the combat of this pair against Aizawa is important because it serves for both to grow. Yaoyorozu, after regaining confidence thanks to Todoroki and a little help from Eraserhead, devises an interesting plan that uncovers it as what it has always been: a very excellent strategist. Although not as skilled in combat as Bakugo, Midoriya or Tokoyami, he possesses an intelligence and analytical ability worthy of admiration. The clash between this ability and Todoroki’s personality is what he needed, as the title of the episode goes, to rise.
I am curious because this “promotion” is extensible to the anime itself; in Chapter 8 I myself doubted if the series would follow a good rhythm. And, at the same time, Yaoyorozu was defeated at the festival. These 20 minutes are proof that the anime has found its own rhythm, stability and its way of being to stand out. Again, I mean. Exactly like the girl herself. Although it is with the autopilot, the anime is solvent and knows how to maintain a good level. Although it has bugs here and there (like a few minutes of exposure rather uncomfortable).
Boku Ascent No Hero Academia
This chapter serves to do justice to the great secondary that has this anime. Also to mature and demonstrate what they are capable of. He has managed to find the focus for each one and has left good scenes that highlight the strengths of all his skills. After the great role played by Iida, Todoroki and Midoriya, it is grateful that the series takes time to explore the personalities of other characters. And without neglecting the usual good practice of Boku no Hero Academy.
But two major secondary schools are still missing. Uraraka has already matured and has shown his most human side. It remains to be seen what has improved in combat. And Bakugo, although we have seen flashes of his incredible dexterity in the fight, much remains to be seen. The next few weeks are really attractive.
